What are pacemakers?
Pacemakers for long-distance road race events is a well practiced approach for marathons worldwide - a group of experienced runners help other runners pace the distance and reach the finish line within a specified goal time. Regardless of whether you're running your first marathon, or you are an experienced runner - you can join one of the VSK Noskrien pacemaker groups.
Pacemakers ensure a smooth race pace throughout the whole distance. This means that each kilometer run is about the same speed, finishing the distance at the desired time plus/minus one minute.
How to recognize the pacemakers?
Pacemakers are equipped with balloons, special pacemaker shirts and race bib numbers that indicate the planned finish time.
Where can I find the pacemakers on race day?
Pacemakers start the race from the staring coridors together will all participants. The fastest times more in the front, slower - closer to the end. Look for the balloons.
